The Healthy Ideal (2of5)

Only With A Clear Vision of a Healthy Ideal, Can We Truly Understand Your Chronic Back Pain.

The Healthy Ideal – How Your Back Should Really Work

Traditional Healthcare doesn't have an agreed-upon vision of how a healthy back truly works because it is based on outdated research, which guides pain sufferers towards medication or surgery.

Before we reveal the truth about your symptoms, let's give you the correct context, a map of such, so you know where you are right now, in relation to becoming pain-free. This is something no one does or teaches, so please join us in this new way of thinking about your journey to pain-free.

Now, imagine a body that feels light when you stand up in the morning. No stiffness. No bracing yourself before moving. No quiet fear that today might be another day of guarding, aching, or just getting through.

Your back feels strong,  in a natural way – it feels supported, as if gravity is working with you, not against you. You move freely, sit comfortably, and walk without having to thinking about it.

Pain isn’t part of the picture because your body is doing what it was designed to do. We would say - "The right muscles, working at the right times."

This isn’t a fantasy. This is what a truly healthy back looks like – and what many of the people we work with remember feeling, even if it was years ago.

So let’s go back to that place for a moment. Let’s look at how your body is built to function when everything is working in harmony. It all starts with Fascia. You can read our deeper Fascia Guide here later.

For now, let's start with some great visuals and a video explaining Fascia.

The Truth About Back Pain

This is the most important video you will watch regarding your Chronic Back pain.

A healthy back starts with your Fascia – that incredible, continuous web of connective tissue that wraps every muscle, surrounds every bone, and connects everything like a living, elastic tent. When your Fascia is healthy – well-hydrated, supple, and free from restrictions – it acts as the perfect foundation. It allows your entire skeleton to sit inside it in perfect balance.

Balanced In Fascia

Think of your skeleton like a beautifully balanced tower of blocks. When the tower is aligned with gravity – straight, centred, no leaning – it stands effortlessly.

The same is true for your body. When your Pelvis is level and neutral in relation to its position in the Fascia web (no forward tilt, no side shift, no rotation), the spine stacks naturally over it, the ribcage rests easily, and the head floats above the shoulders without strain.

We must start with gravity. How is your body standing upright against the forces of gravity? A balanced pelvis is the foundation of balanced function.

Balanced Posture = Skeletal System Hanging Balanced In Your Fascia Web.

This is what we mean by balanced posture against gravity. It’s about your body being organised so that gravity flows evenly through you, rather than pulling you off-centre or forcing you to fight against it all day.

Now that you can picture a balanced skeletal system inside your body, you can understand, from here, when we say "The right muscles, working at the right time." When you are aligned against the force of gravity in a balanced way, then the muscles in your body can hold you up against gravity in a balanced way. The right muscles working at the right time will not succumb to tears, spasms or pain. They don't overwork and therefore, recover each day ready to go again. This is the healthy ideal.
